Photographer exposition of Brazil's Arts - It was
a serie which presented, in the vision of a photographer invited, a way
of production of the main versant of Brazilian craft. For 8 months, the
photos of Luiz Braga, João Fávero and Leonid Prícipe were filling The Station
of Santa Cecília Cultural Space of Paulista Subway, under the auspices of
Intermédica - Healthy System. The Alcântara's
work finished the first serie of the project.Exposition

5th to July 19th of 1992, in the Rio de Janeiro Art Modern Museum, MAM.Brazilian
Fair of Craftmanship - From July 30th to August 8th of 1989,
in Rio Grande do Sul.Exposition
"Animals of Amazon Jungle - Sculptures
of José Alcântara" November 6th of 1997. In this occasion it
was presented the video "José Alcântara and the Piquiá ounce", of Clélia
Bessa and Raul Lody.1st

José Alcântara was comtemplated by
the Brazilian Institute of Anthropology of Amazon. IBAAM, in that time over
the administration of Moacir Andrade, with the diploma of "Merit
Honor" , by the services given for the national culture.

participated of the 1st Gallery of Plastic Arts of Aeronautic, accomplished
from 16th to 23rd of October in 1992, where his sculpture "Jacaré
Açú" conquered the prize Casemiro Montenegro.
